My friend (and fellow artist) Adam Howard is designing a website that catalogs old beer can design from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Some of them are pretty awesome. We brought them down to the studio yesterday - set up a production line and banged out a ton of them. Here are a few… I will hold back from posting more so that Adam can finish up the site.

a new project I am working on. It’s a woodcut on an old board I found outside the studio after another artist moved out. It’s masonite and I am carving away the white laminent on the top. I have a long way to go and I have no idea what I am doing. But I think it is going well.

This is a clip from a piece that I finished this fall for the Cucalorus Film Festival here in Wilmington, NC. It played the opening night at Thalian Hall and was part of a perfromance program that featured collaborations between filmmakers and dancers. I worked with Forward Motion Dance Company. They supplied me with the music and a color pallete but for the most part I was free to do what I thought would connect the dancers with the video. Which is not always easy to do.

The piece is going to be performed again (and screened) at the Cameron Art Museum on Jan. 29. Which I am excited about because it is a really nice space.

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. A whole season, really. The fall flew by. I was really busy with commercial work so my fine art slowed a bit. The big news is that I moved into a new studio! No more random cats or raccoons showing up inside the studio! I even have air conditioning and a kitchen. It’s pretty sweet. I will post more photos once I get rolling on some of my winter projects.
