This past week I was at the Shakerag Workshops in Sewanee, TN. I was taking a digital sound composition and field recording class taught by sound artist Stephen Vitiello. We went out into the Tennessee mountains to collect sounds - later we spent time in the studio cataloging the audio and working in Ableton Live. We composed a piece of our own and later contributed to a collaborative piece that was mixed by Stephen and exhibited at the end of the week. It was a pretty awesome experience overall and I got to meet and work with a bunch of really interesting artists from all over the U.S.
